Active Meditation
I believe that often we don't need to become someone different. We need to stop, listen to ourselves, and reconnect with what we truly need.
Introduction
I'm Melissa Sapmaz, life and transformation coach, functional movement and mobility trainer, breathwork and active meditation facilitator.
For years I explored different disciplines trying to understand what we truly need to feel good about ourselves and the life we're living.
And I discovered there wasn't a single answer.
We need to understand ourselves, but we also need to take care of the body, the mind, energy and awareness. Move. Nourish ourselves. Breathe. Rest. Feel. Relate. Go through change and, sometimes, simply stop long enough to listen to what we really need.
Today all my work grows from that perspective.
My story
I was born in Istanbul, grew up in Barcelona, and have spent a significant part of my life living abroad, in places like San Francisco, Chile, Mallorca, and Singapore.
My first professional career was tied to communication and public relations. For years I lived in a world of high pace, demand, and activity.
Until my own way of living started to take its toll.
What began as a personal search for wellbeing gradually turned into years of study and exploration: coaching, nutrition, health, training, movement, breath, and different transformation practices.
I wasn't looking to build a collection of certifications. I was looking for answers.
I wanted to understand why we can know perfectly well what's good for us and still not do it. Why we can have an apparently full life and feel disconnected. And what role the body, our habits, our emotions, and our history play in all of it.

In 2022, after seven years living in Singapore, I returned to Spain with my three children. My return coincided with my separation and the beginning of a new chapter of my life.
I had to rebuild routines, priorities, projects, and also ask myself who I wanted to be in that new stage.
Being a mother of three, building a business, going through personal changes, and continuing to develop professionally has taught me something fundamental: wellbeing has to work within real life.
I'm not interested in doing everything perfectly. I'm interested in finding tools that let us live with more energy, strength, freedom, and awareness within our real circumstances.
We don't work in parts.
Body, mind, emotions, nervous system, habits, history, relationships, and identity are all part of one system. We can't transform one part of ourselves without the others being affected. My work is to create the space for you to listen to yourself again — and choose how you want to live from there.

Project
BARE WOMAN was born from a simple idea: return to the essential.
Remove noise, automatic habits, and expectations to ask ourselves again how we want to feel and how we want to live.
Through BARE WOMAN I work mainly with women, integrating coaching, strength, functional movement, mobility, nutrition, and habits.
I don't treat body and mind as two separate worlds. Because we can understand many things intellectually and still keep repeating exactly the same patterns.
Some changes need to be understood. And others need to be experienced in the body.
01
Personal and professional change processes, life transitions, the search for clarity, redefining priorities, and moments when we feel our way of living no longer represents us.
02
Functional strength, mobility, and movement to help women in particular feel strong, agile, capable, and connected to their bodies. We don't train only to change how our body looks. We train to be able to use it, enjoy it, and keep trusting it.
03
BARE WOMAN's flagship program. A 6-week + Foundation Week process to review habits and build a sustainable wellbeing base: nutrition, movement, strength, rest, stress, self-care, mindset, and habits. Each week participants receive micro-habits and choose the ones that make sense for them, combining group sessions, journaling, reflection, active meditation, and support.
The goal: to regain a conscious relationship with your body, your energy, and the way you want to live.

Project
EMME is the project Melissa co-creates with her partner, Emmanuel Desormeaux.
It grows from a shared passion for music, breath, movement, and experiences that create real human connection.
Through EMME they create spaces where people can step out of autopilot and experience something different. Less thinking. More feeling.
Melissa and Emmanuel facilitate weekly Breathwork sessions together, combining breath, music, and presence. Experiences designed to explore the body and breath as tools for introspection, regulation, energy, emotional release, and connection.
Melissa and Emmanuel also facilitate Active Meditation experiences in Sitges. Music, movement, breath, presence, and human connection. Because meditating doesn't always mean sitting in silence: for many people, presence begins precisely by moving, breathing, dancing, and allowing themselves to feel.

Retreats
Stepping away from our routines for a few days changes our perspective and lets us listen to ourselves from a different place.
BARE WOMAN's retreat for women
Surf & Soul now has four editions. An experience that combines surf, movement, breathwork, wellbeing, nature, coaching, and connection among women. A few days to step out of usual roles, reclaim personal space, try new things, share, and connect with a freer, more spontaneous part of ourselves.
Surf & SoulReturn to yourself
An experience created by Melissa and Emmanuel in the Sahara desert, in Merzouga, Morocco. Six days around Breathwork · Movement · Music · Silence · Nature · Human Connection. The desert offers something hard to find in everyday life: space. Space to lower the noise, feel the body, observe ourselves, shed layers, and ask what we want to carry with us when we return.
Discover the Desert ExperienceThrough her personal brand on Instagram, Melissa shares content aimed mainly at women who want to explore new ways of caring for themselves, moving, and relating to their bodies.
Her way of communicating grows from curiosity. Study. Experiment. Try. Question. Share.
Melissa doesn't aim to have a formula that works for everyone. Her intention is to offer ideas and tools that inspire each person to experiment, get to know themselves better, and discover what helps them feel good.
Training
My way of supporting people grows from my personal experience, but also from years of training in coaching, health, nutrition, training, breath, and transformation processes.
Coaching taught me to ask and listen.
Nutrition and health taught me to observe the organism.
Training taught me the value of building a strong body.
Mobility taught me to keep exploring its possibilities.
Breath and meditation taught me that there are places we can't always reach just by thinking.
And my own life has taught me that we can change country, profession, partner, stage, or identity and rebuild ourselves again.
That's why my work doesn't try to tell you who you should be. It seeks to help you create enough space to discover what you need right now and how you want to live the next chapter of your life.
